BAUHINIA ROCK (3) won both of his first 2 starts last prep on this track before weakening late after setting the pace at Eagle Farm in a tougher field near the end of December before having a well-earned spell. He resumes at the right level and will be even stronger this year. He comes to hand quickly, and though the 870m is short of his best, he can still muster enough speed early on, and take this out. RUBY JULY (1) is a very capable mare on her day, and she has won over this trip in the past. She has won 5 of her 7 starts fresh up in the past, and is not out of this. Each way. SURREAL ASCOT (5) is a very pacy mare who made some solid progress last prep. She can make full use of the pole position, and after a 3kg claim, she only gets to carry 52kg. Watch closely. HIDDEN MELODY (7) is another handy mare who would have matured over her spell. She was second in a recent trial, and with the advantage of a good draw, she can make her presence felt fresh up in an even contest.
