Preview | February 24
Brighton are 7th in the table and they'll be targeting all 3 points in this fixture. With an average of 1.58 xG (expected goals) per game, Brighton rank 8th in the league so they're likely to get their fair share of chances here. Brighton are reliant on Pascal Groß for his creativity. He's got 3 assists in his last 5 matches. João Pedro will be front and centre in their attempt to prolong success. He has led them this year with 48 shots taken (19th in the EPL).
Picking up points has been a problem for Everton and they've lost 1 of their last 5 matches. Everton have struggled to stamp their authority on matches in recent weeks. They've averaged fewer shots and less possession than their opponents over the last 5 matches. Vitalii Mykolenko has averaged just 0.6 tackles per match in his last 5. But he's still key for Everton defensively, and he'll hope to improve in this fixture.
Brighton-Everton Prediction: 1-0
This one has all the hallmarks of a low-scoring game, but Brighton will be buoyed by the fact that home advantage should be enough for them to secure the win.
Did you know? Everton travelled to the AMEX to play Brighton in 2023 and won 5-1. That remains the most goals the Seagulls have conceded to the Toffees at home in the Premier League.
Can Brighton continue their good form and get another win? Will Everton finally get 3 points here? Now that you're informed, place a bet on the match, and much more at PokerStars Sports.

Nickname: The Toffees
Stadium: Goodison Park (Capacity 39,572)
Manager: Sean Dyche (ENG)
Last Season: 17th
Everton come into this season on the back of a second successive relegation scrap and Manager Sean Dyche promised big changes to avoid a similar campaign this time around. But it’s been a summer of few arrivals at Goodison Park and it’s hard to envisage a dramatic change of fortunes for Dyche’s side this season.
Frozen out by previous manager Frank Lampard, Doucoure thrived under Sean Dyche, scoring 5 goals in his final 10 matches of the season. His stunning second-half volley against Bournemouth on the final day of last season ensured Everton’s Premier League status and it’s no surprise the Toffees have decided to extend his contract by another year.
The Villarreal striker snubbed Everton at the start of the year and joined Tottenham in dramatic fashion. But Danjuma’s impact at Spurs was minimal and the 26-year-old will be hoping it’s a case of second time lucky as he joins the Toffees on a season-long loan. Scoring goals was a huge problem for Everton last season, but Danjuma has proven attacking versatility which will be needed to keep Sean Dyche’s side out of a relegation battle this season.
Fulham ended a five-match losing streak in style when they beat Everton 3-1 at Goodison Park towards the end of last season.
In recent years, Everton have grown accustomed to battling for survival and Manager Sean Dyche is of a similar mould. Before departing in April 2022, Dyche had kept Burnley in the Premier League for six seasons running and his direct, defensive football is a good fit for an Everton squad clearly lacking in quality and depth.
Will Dyche’s defensive setup prove the difference, or will Everton’s 70-year stay in the Premier League finally end?
